The level of discomfort depends on the desired treatment style and the depth of the strokes. Sometimes, it can be a little uncomfortable and sometimes feel like a ‘good hurt’. We aim to achieve the most effective and deepest massage that works with your body’s natural response. Communication with Lily is essential if the pressure is too painful during the massage.

Comfortable and loose clothing is ideal but optional.

Either is acceptable. No rule says you have to remain quiet during a massage or that you have to make small talk. Choose whatever makes you most comfortable.

This depends on your lifestyle, schedule, and budget. Weekly or bi-weekly sessions are ideal for chronic pain issues, avid athletes, or those with stress levels. Monthly sessions may be sufficient for general wellness maintenance. More frequent sessions may be required initially for pain or injury treatment, followed by monthly maintenance sessions.

Massage is not recommended if you are unwell, have a fever, cold, infectious skin condition, or have a diagnosed medical condition like cancer or cardiovascular disease. In these cases, prior medical consent is required from your GP before considering massage.

Most people feel somewhat disoriented and groggy immediately after a massage. This will lift after a while, leaving you feeling relaxed and centred. You may feel sleepy and comfortable for the rest of the day or energised and renewed. With deep work and specific remedial treatment, you may feel tender or sore in the next 24-72 hours, which is normal and part of the healing process.

Remember to drink plenty of water following your massage to keep your muscles hydrated and flush out toxins released during the treatment.
